Mozart Great Mass in C Minor
Saturday, June 25, 2016
The Edinburgh Singers' first orchestral concert
since Alistair Digges joined as Musical
Director was a rare opportunity to see a performance of one
of Mozart's sublime works for chorus and
orchestra, the stunning Great Mass in C
minor.
The choir was joined by some exceptional solo talent, including
BBCSSO principal trumpet Mark O'Keeffe, as
well as Catriona
Clark and Megan
Read (Soprano), Jamie
MacDougall (Tenor) and James
Arthur (Bass).
The headlining Mass was supplemented by Mozart's ever-popular
gem, Ave Verum Corpus, and the
evening also featured music by Haydn, with
his dramatic Te Deum in C, and a
real treat as Mark O'Keeffe played the Trumpet
Concerto in Eb.
Haydn: Te Deum in C
Haydn: Trumpet Concerto in Eb
Mozart: Ave Verum Corpus
Mozart: Great Mass in C Minor
